Đậu Hũ Sốt Cà Chua: Fried Tofu in Tomato Sauce
Ingredients:
1 pound cherry tomatoes or Roma tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1 bunch scallions, chopped. Separate the whites from the greens.
1/2 bulb garlic, minced
1 block firm tofu, cubed, pat dry
3 tablespoons soy sauce or to taste
1 teaspoon mushroom seasoning granules or to taste
Sugar to taste
Ground black pepper to taste
1 cup water
Instructions:
1. Fry tofu cubes on medium-high heat until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
2. Heat oil on medium high heat. Add scallion whites and garlic. Cook for 3 minutes.
3. Add tomatoes, soy sauce, mushroom seasoning granules, sugar, and water to thin out the sauce. Add tofu. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Reduce sauce to desired consistency.
4. Turn off heat and add scallion greens and black pepper.
5. Serve with rice.
