Ask any seasoned plant lover and they’ll tell you that, in the laws of Nature, the first step to revive a dying plant is to prune off any diseased or old leaves and branches, so that the plant can redirect all its energy towards promoting new growth, instead of towards nursing what no longer serve its higher purpose.
Nature is the wisest teacher of all, and we can always learn from her allegories. Why do many of us choose Autumn as our favorite season? Because that is when we get to witness Nature’s bravest transformative act that we wish we had the courage to emulate in our own lives: shed what no longer serves us so new growth can be nourished.
But does that mean we have to curse and shun what we leave behind? Absolutely not. Because every sickly leaf, every brittle branch, every wilted petal once played a part in this beautiful cycle of life. Nature never condemn and regret. She appreciates and gives gratitude to all who added their colors to this ever evolving tapestry, and she learns, exhales, and moves forward.
I hope you’re extracting some values out of my abstract garden contemplation, beautiful squash blossoms. Somehow, I know, that this message will find the person who needs to hear it at the time they see these words, as they always do.
